Child Support Contractor To Pay For Delay

A company will pay custodial parents affected by a failure to issue debit cards containing child support payments on time.  Missouri officials said yesterday, a vendor for Systems and Methods Inc. failed to mail the cards on time between October 11th and the 15th, leaving parents unable to access funds. SMI agreed to pay the State over 68-hundred-dollars in fees, assist those who have late payment fees due to the delay, and issue an apology letter for the inconvenience.  The company’s 290-thousand-dollar payment will be added during the next payment cycle.
