Disaster Aid Approved For Missouri Counties
Twenty-seven Missouri counties are to receive federal aid in an effort rebuild and recover from the severe flooding, tornados and weather this spring. According to the “St. Louis Post Dispatch”, effective May 31, Governor Nixon declared a state of emergency in Missouri and yesterday, President Obama approved the measure. St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Barton, Callaway, Cape Girardeau, Chariton, Clark, Howard, Iron, Knox, Lewis, Maries, Marion, Miller, Montgomery, Osage, Perry, Pike, Putnam, Ralls, Shelby, Ste. Genevieve, Stoddard, Sullivan, Texas and Webster are all included in the federal declaration. Nixon’s July 3rd request for individual assistance for residents in St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Callaway, Montgomery, Osage and Pike counties is still under review.
