Funeral Service Employee Admits Guilt to Fraud

Former employee of National Prearranged Services, Inc, Sharon Province plead guilty to fraud for selling prearranged funeral contracts and the misappropriation of insurance premiums.   Province now faces up to three years in prison for her role in one of the largest Ponzi-like schemes ever prosecuted in the Eastern District of Missouri.  According to court documents, clients would by a prearranged funeral contract with the idea that the company would keep the money in a trust until it was needed, however when the time came for the funeral the money was gone.  Over six-hundred-million-dollars are alleged to have been taken by customers.
