Jockey’s Questioned For Throwing Race

Illinois gaming officials are investigation whether jockeys tried to let 70-year-old jockey R.A. “Cowboy” Jones win a race at Fairmont Park, Tuesday.  Jones riding My Kentucky Breeze would have been the first rider to win a race in seven different decades.  According to the “Post Dispatch”, what raised eyebrows during Tuesday’s second race was why jockey’s never used their whips to urge their horses onward in the stretch, and if jockey Uriel Lopez seemed to hold back all together on the homestretch.  Ola D. ridden by Uriel Lopez finished first in the race, and My Kentucky Breeze ridden by Jones coming in second.
