Local Lawmakers Respond To Government Agreement

Missouri’s lawmakers are responding to the reopening of the government and averting a threatened Treasury default after a partial 16-day shutdown.  The “Post Dispatch” reports, Democratic Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois and Republican Representative Ann Wagner of Ballwin, Missouri were both quoted as saying it was a relief after what everyone has been through, however Wagner added in a later interview she had voted against the final deal as in the end it was nothing but more spending and debt.  Senator McCaskill said she hoped the bipartisan agreement would be a blueprint for future compromise, and she was eager to return to work.
