Quinn Signs Bills Banning Teens Tans And E-cigarettes
Governor Quinn signed two new laws Thursday banning the use of tanning beds and electronic cigarettes for Illinois teens. Sponsors of the tan ban cited research showing the early use of tanning beds increases the chances of getting melanoma by 75-percent. Supporters of the ban on E-cigarettes for those under 18 say that while they don't contain tobacco, E-cigarettes do contain nicotine, a habit-forming drug. Both laws take effect on January 1, 2014.
