St. Louis Hit Hard By Flash Floods
A line of storms moved across the St. Louis area Monday afternoon dumping heavy rain, lightning and at times small hail. The rising waters left some area residents and motorists stranded sometimes with water up to their chests and having to be rescued by firefighters and rescue workers. Hardest hit were the areas near Tower Grove Park and Hampton Avenue in the city where two to three-inches of rain fell in less than two-hours. No injuries have been reported.
